Mirror’s shopping writer Grace says Next’s £24 perfume smells just as luxe as her favourite Chanel fragrance and it’s a fraction of the price

My favourite Chanel perfume and probably one of my all-time favourite fragrances is Coco Mademoiselle, but at between £78 and £145 a bottle (depending on the ml), it can be pretty pricey to keep topping up.

That’s why I was so happy to come across a £24 alternative that, in my opinion, smells just as good. The perfume in question? Next’s Eau Nude, which comes in at a budget-friendly £24 for a generous 200ml bottle, or an even more affordable £16 for 100ml. Not a bad price for something that gives off a luxury perfume vibe.

With top notes of mandarin and base notes of patchouli and vanilla, it has that same sultry, powdery finish that I love about the Chanel one.

What gives Eau Nude its own twist, though, is a hint of raspberry, which adds a light sweetness that gives the scent a fresher take without being overpowering.

It’s the kind of fragrance you can wear all day and into the evening, whether you’re heading to the office or out for dinner. A total hidden gem that’s well worth snapping up.

Although I will still be loyal towards my go-to Chanel scent, it’s nice to know that I can stock up on the Next one and not feel so pressured to save it for special occasions.

The affordable price tag means that I can chuck this perfume in my bag for work or when I’m heading to meet friends without worrying that I’ll lose it and have to pay over £100 to replace it. The fragrance is also available in a lighter body mist for £9.

The only downside is, of course, it is not quite as long-lasting as Coco Mademoiselle, however, that is to be expected with the price.

A few other of my favourite afforable high street perfumes include & Other Stories’ Arabesque Wood Eau De Toilette, £32, and River Island’s Decadent Day Eau De Parfum, £20.
