A brainteaser shared on Reddit has left people scratching their heads as they try to find a tiny needle in a quilt – and only those with ‘perfect vision’ will be able to spot it

Just like hitting the gym to keep your physique in top shape, giving your brain a workout is key for keeping it nimble and quick.

Challenging the old noodle does wonders, from sharpening memory skills to boosting concentration. And a paper published by the National Library of Medicine confirms that brain teasers can actually do a world of good. They found that puzzle games “positively influence the central nervous system and activate stress path, leading to changes in brain signals and subsequently improved cognitive elements, such as attention among players”. Loads of folks grab a puzzle to flex their mental muscle and they reckon throwing a stopwatch into the mix bumps up the benefits even more.

Lets face it, who wouldn’t get a kick out of beating the clock or outsmarting their mates? This particular brain tickler is sending heads spinning, baffling even the eagle-eyed. Hidden in this quilt decked out with zodiac signs is a sneaky dropped needle, fancy a go at finding it? The teaser was tossed onto Reddit and left people scratching their heads as they tried to nail down the elusive needle on its tricky white canvas. A handful did manage a glimpse but it’s only the sharpest eyes will succeed, reports the Daily Record.

Folks rushed online to discuss the tricky puzzle, with one user making quipping: “Let me take my socks off and walk on the material. That’s the fastest way.” Another individual took a wrong stab at it, guessing: “On the hand? Touching the bottom of the thumb?”

Spoiler ahead!

If you’ve been hunting for the solution, hold your horses because we’re just about to spill the beans. One sharp-eyed player came forward with: “Sniper location – Centre stitch on the right side of what looks like an ‘o’ in no, near the bottom.” Another explained the spot by saying: “By the Capricorn sign!”.

Other visual puzzles that have proved popular include the infamous #TheDress photo of 2015 which became a global sensation. A Tumblr blogger called Caitlin posted a snap of a layered lace dress and jacket worn by the mother of a bride at a wedding in Soctland that was causing consternation amongst her friends.

Online users couldn’t decide if the garment was blue and black or gold and white and celebrities joined in, with Taylor Swift admitting she was “confused and scared”. The dress was actually blue and black and the image was a colour illusion, with the bluish tint of the image making the blue parts look white and the black parts look gold. People spending more hours in sunlight were more likely to see white and gold, with the debate over who was right and who was wrong raging on around the world.
