Tributes have poured in from the motorsport community to all involved in today’s tragic incident.
One fan wrote: “Absolutely devastating day for the sport as a whole highlighting the dangers these riders go through for their and our enjoyment and passion. God speed both of them and speedy recovery to those who are injured.”
Another added: “Extremely sad news, a deeply tragic loss of Owen and Shane. My deepest condolences to their family, friends and team members. Thank you to all the marshalls, police, paramedics and all those who dealt with the incident today, may those affected be given equal love and support.”
A third said: “No words. Terrible, terrible day for our sport. Deepest condolences to family and friends of the riders involved.”
While a fourth added: “Heartbreaking. Our love, strength and condolences to all those affected.”
