The final day of the Premier League season comes this weekend, with the PGMOL now publishing its refereeing assignments for all 10 matches with the title race still to be decided
After 370 matches the end of the Premier League season is almost upon us.
While the relegation picture is all but decided with Burnley and Sheffield United officially down and Luton effectively doomed, the title race is set to go to the wire. Manchester City are in the driving seat and know a win over West Ham at home will secure their fourth Premier League title in a row, with Arsenal needing a favour from the Hammers – and a win vs Everton to win their first crown in 20 years.
In the race for Europe; Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle all need results on the final day with the Blues still in with a chance of leapfrogging Tottenham to finish as high as fifth.
A group of people hoping to avoid being in the headlines are the match officials for Sunday’s games. Decisions from VAR have been a major talking point this season, with Premier League clubs set to vote on scrapping the system next season.
There is still a round of games to go where VAR will be in operation before that vote takes place though. The PGMOL have deployed top referee Michael Oliver to Arsenal’s clash with Everton.
Meanwhile, John Brooks will be in the middle for City’s deciding game against West Ham. Here, Mirror Football runs through the refereeing appointments for all 10 final day games.
