This town in the Canary Islands is offering adrenaline junkies and sunseekers the ultimate holiday. With sizzling winter temperatures and cheap flights, it’s a no brainer why tourists love it

A pretty seaside town nestled in the Canary Islands boasts magnificent views, brilliant food and a famous beach.

Whilst many people assume you have to travel extremely far to experience a warm climate, the town of El Médano is still pleasant even in February. According to experts, the town in Tenerife offers an average temperature of 19C, with the maximum listed at 22C.

Even at night, it is still possible to step outside with just a jumper or cardigan in tow, with conditions still listed at 15C, according to TUI. The must-see destination is said to attract holidaymakers because of its unique atmosphere and beautiful scenary. The area is also known as a hub for water sports activities and it great for windsurfing.

Located close to the airport, the town not only offers convient travel, but also has something for everyone. El Médano is thought to be one of the most unique towns in Tenerife. The stunning town, which is located in the south of the island, offers a mixture of traditional eateries with seafood and other cuisines. Foodies can also find an array of options at one of its many seaside cafes for affordable prices.

On its website, Hello Canary Islands says: “In the south of Tenerife you will find one of the local residents’ favourite beaches on the island: El Médano, a beach of golden sand, shallow waters and moderates wave with all the necessary services an urban beach requires.

“Over time the centre of El Médano has become an important second home base for many islanders and is a hugely popular spot for wind and kitesurfing due to constant winds, which gives the town a real buzz in the evening after a day spent on the beach.”

According to SkyScanner, you can purchase a flight to Tenerife for as little as £38 with Ryanair for the start of February. The flight time is listed for around 4 hours and 30 minutes. Visitors who recently flocked to the town in November and December last year, shared their delight on TripAdvisor.

One traveller wrote: “Fantastic place – full of bohemian vibes with an excellent choice of bars and restaurants. A much bigger place than expected. Definitely worth a visit or even a stay.” Another commented: “Great little area. Beach, shops, bank, bars and restaurants. Didn’t stay just visited from a nearby hotel. Good local transport.”
