Prince Harry made a secret visit to a family member during his short visit to the UK this month.

The Duke of Sussex filled his four-day trip with charity visits, events, and even a private meeting with his dad King Charles. In his busy schedule, the Prince made time to quietly visit a family member in a part of the trip that was not shown to the public. Prince Harry left the UK before the funeral for the Duchess of Kent on Tuesday, who died aged 92. The Duke of Sussex secretly travelled to Kensington Palace to “personally pay his respects and offer condolences” to the Duke of Kent.

Prince Harry made an unexpected visit to Ukraine after his UK trip, to pledge support for the country’s injured, before flying back to his Montecito, California, home.

A source, according to Hello! Magazine, said the Prince “regretted” not staying in the UK longer. The source close to the Prince said: “He has loved catching up with family, friends and colleagues.

“His only regret was not being able to stay longer and see more people, but the meetings in Ukraine had been in the diary for a long time and it mattered to him to be there in person to see the Invictus Games Foundation’s growing work and the progress at Superhumans.” A spokesperson for the Duke confirmed he visited the Duke of Kent during his four-day stay.

Many major members of the Royal Family gathered in Westminster Cathedral for a private funeral for the late royal. King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate were among the senior royals to attend the central London service.

Notably absent was Queen Camilla who sent her “deep regrets” for having to miss the service because she was ill and recovering from acute sinusitis. A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “Her thoughts and prayers will be with the Duke of Kent and all the family.”

Prince Andrew, 65, was seen laughing at the funeral as people were shocked to see him present. As the royals left the emotional service, Andrew was seen chuckling as he appeared to share a joke with ex-wife Fergie.

The Duke also broke into laughter while standing next to Prince William, who looked visibly uncomfortable and embarrassed. Prince William was reportedly “furious” at Andrew’s appearance at the ceremony.

It is said to have particularly upset Prince William who has reportedly been determined “not be photographed” with his uncle in recent times. Andrew Lownie, a royal author, wrote: “William, meanwhile, was ‘furious’ at being ambushed in this way, according to friends.

“He has been at pains to distance himself from his uncle and not be photographed with him. He believes his father has not dealt with him with sufficient firmness and that Andrew – and Sarah Ferguson – have done much to undermine the good work of other members of the Royal Family.”
