Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, a nephew of King Charles and the late Queen’s eldest grandson, has revealed he is engaged to Harriet Sperling after a year of dating

Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips has revealed he is engaged to be married to girlfriend Harriet Sperling after a year of dating.

The pair confirmed their engagement with Peter’s uncle King Charles and cousin Prince William said to have been informed with both delighted for the couple.

Peter, 47, was previously married to first wife Autumn Kelly, with whom he has two daughters Isla and Savannah. He also dated long-term partner Lindsay Wallace before they split and he later found love with Harriet, an NHS nurse.

A statement on behalf the couple read: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement.

“Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement. Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed of the announcement. No date has been officially set for the wedding.”
