Another night of drone attacks in Ukrainian capital Kyiv has wiped out several people, including a father and his five-year-old daughter and an 11-month-old infant

Drones sent by Vladimir Putin caused a night of terror in the capital of Ukraine, where victims included a baby and a young girl.

At least three people were killed and ten were wounded as explosions rang out in several residential districts of Kyiv. Among those killed in the horror attack overnight was an 11-month-old infant, as well as a father and his five-year-old daughter. Several videos were shared from the capital, with one showing a trapped victim screaming for help from his home in a block of flats which was well alight after the sneak Russian attack by a fleet of drones.

An onlooker said: “There’s a man burning alive in an apartment. It’s a nightmare.” Mayor Vitali Klitschko added: “A massive enemy drone attack on Kyiv.”

Air defences shot down 97 of the 147 drones targeting Ukraine, but in Kyiv these triggered explosions and fires as they hit buildings. One woman died after drone debris ignited a fire in Dniprovskyi district and another person was killed in the Holosiivskyi district.

One Telegram channel posted: “There is chaos in the sky of the capital right now.” Fires were reported in high rise apartment blocks around the city as an air raid alarm lasted more than five hours from the Shahed drones.

The night attacks hit Kyiv, and the Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa and Donetsk regions. It was the second night in succession that Russian strikes had wiped out a father and daughter.

The previous night in Zaporizhzhia, a Russian strike on tragic innocent civilians killed Ulyana-Hrystyna Malenko, 17, and her Roman Malenko, 41. Hours later her mother Olga Malenko, 38, died in hospital after being pulled alive from the rubble. An elder daughter, Viktoria, was not at the family home when the drone struck.

Ukraine targeted Russia with drones, with one person in a car reported dead in Rostov region. An oil refinery was the target of strikes in Volgograd and Astrakhan.

The Russian defence ministry reported 59 drones were destroyed overnight. New explosions were reported at key Russian oil exporting point Kavkazskaya as flames shot hundreds of feet into the sky.

This facility was originally hit on Wednesday and has been ablaze since then, damaging Russian oil supply lines. The attacks came after Odesa was left “in flames” after a devastating post-ceasefire kamikaze drone attack which injured three people, including a young girl.

Dramatic footage taken by residents living in the southern Ukrainian city shows the orange glow of a massive explosion and shockwaves rocking local infrastructure following the worst done attack of the war so far.

The smouldering remains of several buildings could be seen as smoke rises high into the air and pressure can be heard batting at buildings in videos posted on Telegram as the attack hit the southern portion of the city.
