Rapsodo and the Golf Club Management Association (GCMA) are joining forces to help golf clubs across the UK identify new ways to develop their driving range facilities. Through the partnership, club managers will be able to explore accessible technology that enhances practice sessions, supports golfer retention and creates opportunities to strengthen the commercial performance of existing facilities.
The collaboration builds on the growing UK presence of Rapsodo Range, which has secured more than 10 installations within its first year across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Suitable for golf clubs and independent driving ranges, the system combines detailed ball and club data with video replay and interactive practice options.
Unlocking more value from existing range facilities
Rapsodo Range has been designed to give operators flexibility when upgrading their facilities. There is no upfront investment beyond a refundable security deposit, while flexible contract terms and the option to start with a small number of bays help clubs adopt the technology at a suitable scale. The compact system can also work at venues where space constraints make a traditional large-scale range unsuitable. Installation can normally be completed within a day, subject to site requirements.
The system delivers 11 performance metrics, including ball speed, carry distance, club speed and launch angle. Players can also benefit from video replays, virtual golf courses and interactive games, providing a varied practice experience that combines feedback with entertainment. These capabilities can help facilities increase golfer engagement, encourage repeat visits and make better use of their ranges across the year.
Matthew Rigby, Rapsodo’s Director of International Markets, said: “Driving range technology should be accessible to clubs of different sizes, not just large commercial facilities. Our growing UK installation base demonstrates demand for a flexible, cost-effective solution that benefits golfers and makes commercial sense for facilities. Through the GCMA, we look forward to bringing that opportunity to more club managers.”
Middleton Hall Golf Club offers an example of how the system can be introduced at an existing venue, with Rapsodo Range installed across all eight of its driving range bays. David Freeman, Director at the club, said: “We were impressed by the exceptional value for money and how easy the system was to set up. The results speak for themselves: increased footfall, higher revenue and extremely positive feedback.”
The partnership will provide GCMA members with opportunities to understand how Rapsodo Range can help improve existing facilities, create a more rewarding experience for golfers and explore new sources of revenue without investing in extensive redevelopment.
Darren Wood, GCMA Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Rapsodo as a new GCMA partner, strengthening our network of leading organizations supporting golf clubs and the people who manage them. This partnership will provide opportunities for GCMA members to learn more about Rapsodo’s technology and its applications within golf, while enabling Rapsodo to build closer relationships with club managers and professionals across the UK.”
