A woman has been dubbed the ‘real life Rapunzel’ after showing off her long brown hair which almost reaches the floor – and people are desperate to know her secret
A woman has earned the nickname ‘real life Rapunzel’ thanks to her incredibly long brown hair that almost grazes the floor.
Showcasing her incredible hair on TikTok as @doc.shkuratova, she shares clips of her hair – and often receives compliments from her followers. In one of the latest clips, she is seen walking through a green garden with her at-least-5ft hair trailing behind her, prompting curious followers to ask about her ‘secrets’ to achieving such enviable, lustrous length.
“How does one achieve this long hair?” one admirer questioned, while another added: “Rapunzel with long beautiful healthy hair.” A third was eager for advice, asking: “Any tips on how to grow long healthy hair quick and fast?”
Amidst the flurry of questions, one follower offered guidance, saying: “Keep your scalp clean and take care of the length to avoid breakage, but hair growth is genetics so most people are not able to achieve this length.”
Hair experts at John Frieda say on average, hair grows about half an inch per month, which means a full six inches every year—suggesting those dreaming of floor-length hair must brace themselves for a near decade-long journey, depending on your height and starting hair length.
Sharing their advice, they said: “It sounds counterintuitive, but regular trims are exactly what your hair needs to encourage healthy growth. Having a haircut won’t make your hair grow faster, but it will get rid of split ends and breakage which can travel up the hair shaft, damaging your strands and minimising volume.”
They also noted: “Getting rid of frizzy, damaged ends will make your hair look like it’s healthier, neater and growing faster.” To give your mane an extra boost, they suggest incorporating protein-packed foods into your diet and complementing them with hair-enhancing supplements. But that’s not all – steer clear of overbrushing and leaving your hair vulnerable to harsh weather conditions.
“If you use heat-styling tools, turn them down to their lowest setting and always use a heat protection spray to shield your hair from heat damage. When blow-drying your hair, stop when it’s 80% dry and wait for it to dry naturally before leaving the house. If you’re always using your curling wand, consider trying a heat-free way to get wavy hair.”
