Robert Trebor has died, aged 71. The news has now been shared weeks on from his passing with the cause of death having been reported too.
The actor – best known for his roles in Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: the Legendary Journeys – reportedly died on March 11 at Los Angeles Medical Center of sepsis. The news of his death was shared with the Hollywood Reporter by his wife Deirdre Hennings, who also said that he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 and had a stem-cell transplant a year later.
Robert launched his acting career decades ago and he’s best known for his role as Salmoneus on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. The show – which starred Kevin Sorbo as the title character – ran for six seasons from 1995 to 1999.
The main cast included Robert, whose character Salmoneus was a friend of Hercules. Robert also appeared as the character in the spin-off show Xena: Warrior Princess, starring Lucy Lawless, which ran for six seasons from 1995 to 2001.
He’s also credited with having appeared in films like Talk Radio (1988), Wedding Daze (2004) and Raise Your Voice (2004). His most recent credit was playing the producer of the fictional film being made in Hail, Caesar! (2016).
