Teddi Mellencamp has given a difficult update on her recovery amid her health crisis.
Last month, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was rushed to hospital to undergo urgent operations after doctors discovered tumours in her brain. Teddi, 43, revealed at the time that she was having two large tumours removed surgically, with other smaller tumours removed by radiation.
In posts shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Teddy shared that she’d just undergone her first radiation session for the smaller tumours mentioned.
The reality TV personality first shared: “Day one of immunotherapy. I do immunotherapy once every three weeks. And then next week I start radiation and I do it every single day, yup, I really hope it’s at 8 am so it does not conflict with the pod.”
Teddi soon followed up after her first session, laying in bed in dim light as she described how the process went. Well, I’m pretty glad that’s over,” she admitted.
“It wasn’t actually that bad during it, it was just the last 20 minutes – the nausea. It came in hot, it’s still here. But I did it. First treatment is over and I feel like I am going to be really ready for work tomorrow. I mean, I’m practically going to bed at 6pm, so I should be fresh as a daisy.”
The following morning Teddi thankfully seemed to have got over the worst of her sickness, heading off for a hot yoga session after debating whether or not she was up for the exercise.
Teddi first revealed her diagnosis with brain tumours on February 12, outlining: “For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches. Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.
“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumours on my brain, which they believed have been growing for at least 6 months. Two of the tumours will be surgically removed today – the remaining smaller tumours will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”
She added: “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health. Thank you everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey,” along with a heart emoji.
“Counting down the minutes until my babies get here,” she wrote. “As my dad said this am, god only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be ok.”
Teddi sported buzzed hair in her latest clips, after having filmed herself getting her hair shaved off by a pal in her hospital room last month before her operation.
The star’s February health crisis came only days after urging fans to check for skin melanomas following her diagnosis with skin cancer in 2022.
