Russia: Fire engulfs hospital in Yekaterinburg

A huge fire has broken out at a hospital in Russia, with people jumping out of the building’s windows to escape from the flames, according to reports.

Russian media reported this morning that the roof of the Central Hospital No. 3 in Yekaterinburg is burning – with patients and visitors being evacuated. A witness said the emergency services arrived within three minutes of the fire breaking out. Currently, no information is available on the number of victims.

Footage shared online this morning shows flames engulfing the building with a huge plume of black smoke rising from it. Disturbing clips show some people jumping from the hospital’s windows to escape to safety.

According to E1.RU, the roof was allegedly being repaired. However, the Russian publication said this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
