Three men have been arrested following an attack at Salford Shopping Centre, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of this morning where a man suffered head injuries

A man has been rushed to hospital with “head injuries” following an attack in a city centre where a shopping precinct has been taped off by police.

The unnamed man is understood to have been assaulted in the early hours of this morning with Greater Manchester Police rushing to Salford Shopping Centre, on Pendleton Way, just after 5am. A large area including lawns and pavement outside a Betfred shop is currently cordoned off and there are officers at the scene this morning including crime scene investigators.

“We were called to Salford Precinct at about 5:10am today to reports of an assault,” said a statement from the force. “Following a swift response, three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody. The male victim is in hospital being treated for head injuries.”
