Chart icon Samantha Fox was performing in Spain when she stacked it on stage while dancing energetically at a festival – but she proved she’s ever the professional by carrying on

Samantha Fox shocked, then stunned, fans when she took a tumble on stage – only to keep singing away.

The 58-year-old star was among performers at the Generacion Tocata festival in Spain last weekend where she performed hits to the delight of her audience. However, there were gasps of shock as the singer skipped across the stage only to trip over some equipment and hit the floor with a worrying thud.

Proving herself to be the consummate professional, Sam lifted her mic and cracked on with the singing without missing a beat. As she belted out the lyrics of her version of Dusty Springfield’s I Only Wanna Be With You, she was helped back onto her feet by a considerate backing dancer.

Footage from the heart-stopping moment has gone viral – with many fans sharing their relief that she didn’t appear to injure herself. And many others shared messages of support to Sam, to commend her on her professionalism.

One fan wrote: “She was fantastic on stage demonstrating professionalism and spilling joy yay” Another typed: “Only the greats come out looking so splendid after a stumble.” And another typed: “Great Samanta… And singing live… An icon without a doubt,” with a further fan adding. “We saw it and the noise and her professionalism was impressive.”

Spanish news outlet La Vanguardia reported on the incident, writing: “According to sources from Zaragoza City Council, it was all due to the unfortunate placement of one of the amplifiers, which was placed in an inappropriate place on the stage and caused the singer of hits such as Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now to end up on the floor, to the dismay of those present.”

Samantha herself has not appeared to have commented on the incident online. She did, however, share a photograph of herself mid-performance from the festival on her Instagram grid. The former glamour model first began her journey into the world of music in 1983 when she performed under the name S.F.X.

She released a single called Rockin’ with My Radio, followed by another Aim to Win in 1984. The tracks failed to chart, however she had more luck in the following years. Her 1986 song Touch Me (I Want Your Body) hit number 3 in the UK and topped charts elsewhere in the world – including Australia, Canada, Finland, and Switzerland. She followed this with number 10 hit Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me) and later the track Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now. She was also nominated for the Best Female Solo Artist at the 1988 BRIT Awards.

She has released six albums over the years, with her debut, titled Touch Me, hitting number 17 in the UK charts, and her most recent record, Angel with an Attitude, being released in 2005. Her most recent single was Hot Boy, which was released in 2018.
