Monster Urfan Sharif, 43, was ambushed in his cell by two inmates at HMP Belmarsh who used the sharp edge of a tuna can to slice him in the face and neck, leaving him with permanent scars

Sara Sharif’s killer dad is said to be “terrified” of returning to his cell after a fellow inmate attacked him with the razor edge of a tuna tin.

Urfan Sharif, 43, who killed his own 10-year-old daughter, was attacked by two inmates in his own cell, leaving him in the hospital unit of HMP Belmarsh with scars across his neck and face. He is reportedlly cowering in his cell fearing other cons will launch a copycat attack against him at the prison.

A source told The Sun: “Sharif has had treatment and was lucky to survive. He is not back on the wing yet, and may have to be placed in solitary for his own safety. The word is that others will try another attack – he has a target on his back because of who he is and what he did.

“He will always be looking over his shoulder and, if anything, is even more of a target now. Other inmates will not stop because he has been attacked once. Just look at people like Ian Huntley, who is another child killer, and has been attacked multiple times inside. That’s the position Sharif is in now and it will not stop overnight.

“The prison and its staff will do their utmost to keep him safe – and that could include isolating him for his own good. But you cannot do that for ever and he won’t be able to escape other cons indefinitely.”

The source added that the assault was a planned attack and that the two individuals who slashed him are being moved. He may even be moved in the wake of the assault.

He sustained wounds on the neck and face and was “lucky to survive”, the source said, adding they will have permanent scars. The other inmates carried out the attack because they’re unhappy he is there, adding that it’s because they don’t like those who kill children.

The source said that Sara’s stepmother will also be having trouble at the jail she’s now living in. We previously reported how she gave away several “chilling” signs of her guilt during a police interview following the little girl’s murder.

Body language expert Judi James closely examined Surrey Police’s interview footage with Beinash Batool, 30, following her arrest over Sara’s murder. Batool and Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, 42, fled the country for Pakistan after they beat Sara so severely that she died from her injuries and neglect – her body was found alone in the house when police arrived at the Woking home in August last year.

During a police interview following her arrest last year, Batool was asked directly about her relationship with Sara. To each question about their relationship, she responded “no comment.” Among the questions included, “do you love Sara?” and “did you care about her at all?” Judi said Batool’s body language during the questioning were “cool and confident.”

“Her eye contact is solid from the start, and it flicks easily from one questioner to the other giving the impression of being fully alert,” Judi told The Mirror. “The only sign of possible emotion comes from the curling of the lips into a smile.

“At the start the corners of the closed lips curl upward and there is then a small stretching of the mouth into a faint smile. She scratches her nose, which is often seen as a possible symptom of lying, but this is an irrelevant gesture as she performs it before questions have been asked, apart from being asked to identify herself.”
