Celebrity siblings Adam and Ryan Thomas have revealed they think their brother Scott was simply “too old” to go back on Love Island before his early exit. The duo admitted they were happy the 36-year-old reality TV star left when he did after his failed bid for romance.

Scott had been appearing on the second edition of ITV2’s Love Island All Stars and had desperately tried to find his match. However, after a row with former TOWIE star Elma Pazar regarding his pairing with Tina Stinnes, Scott called it a day in the South African villa. Now, his famous brothers have had their say on his appearance.

During his stint on the show, Scott, who first appeared on Love Island back in 2016 during the second series, was one of the eldest members of the cast in the villa, alongside former Blazin’ Squad star, Marcel Somerville, who was 39. Meanwhile, the youngest Islander was Sammy Root, aged just 23.

While Scott’s twin Adam said he was proud of his brother, he questioned whether he was simply too mature for the show. Speaking to Heat Magazine, he said: “I’m happy that he left when he did though – it felt like the right time. He was maybe a little bit too mature and even too old for the other contestants.”

When Scott made his decision to leave the show, Adam immediately praised his brother and again touched on the age factor. Speaking to Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid, he said: “He was in the series when it first started, series two, he was young, he was free, he didn’t have that much to lose. He was going in there for a little bit of fun. At 36, you’re not looking for a bit of fun, you’re looking to settle down.”

Scott had earlier told Luca Bish in the villa his situation was “stressing me out”. “I dunno where I am…,” he said. “Something’s stressing me out a little bit… when she’s in the garden I’m not wanting to rush over… this girl is so good for me and the fact I’m not buzzing p****s me off.”

Moving on to his new role on 99 To Beat, brother Ryan, 40, opened up to Heat about the one thing he must always have in his dressing room before filming the show.

Despite saying the siblings are “quite straightforward,” he admitted: “We only had one request and that was a coffee. The diva bit though, is that it has to be a proper strong coffee. Instant isn’t good enough.”

The gameshow, hosted by the brothers and former Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars, is their first mainstream hosting gig on primetime television.

It sees 100 people being pitted against each other in a variety of challenges in order to win a huge cash prize of £25,000. After each game, those who lost must leave the competition for good until there’s only one player left, having defeated the other 99.

Adam and Ryan both gushed over appearing on the show when it was first announced, saying: “It’s new, it’s fresh, it’s fun and we can’t wait for people to see it! It really is the ultimate family show, and so we couldn’t be more excited to be hosting it together, as a family.”

They described hosting it as “a dream come true”. “We can already imagine people at home playing these games with their families as it’s fun/silly/competitive & heartfelt,” they said.
