Birmingham: Shocking moment man bounces off car bonnet

This is the shocking moment a man appears to attack a woman before jumping into the way of a moving car.

Footage of the incident shows the man shouting expletives at the woman before turning to scream at the driver of a Skoda Kodiaq driver. The incident happened in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter at around 9pm on February 3.

In the dramatic video, the man can be heard shouting “open the f****** door” at the driver of the car, who appeared to be with the woman, before kicking and pushing her as the vehicle sped off in an attempt to prevent him from getting inside. The woman seemed to scream in terror as the driver tried to circle back around several times in vain attempts to rescue her.

The alleged attacker briefly followed the woman along a nearby street before she eventually managed to get into the blue car and make her escape. But as the car drove off, the man appeared to jump in the way of the vehicle.

The impact sent him flying over the car’s bonnet and caused the Skoda’s windscreen to shatter, Birmingham Live reported. He fell into an impromptu backwards roll which allowed him to quickly get back to his feet.

He then aimed more expletives at the occupants of the car, which sped off in the direction of Livery Street, before walking away. Dramatic footage of the incident, filmed by a local resident, ran for nearly three minutes.

West Midlands Police said they are now looking into the incident and want to speak to both the man and the woman. They have also urged any witnesses to get in touch. The force said in a statement shared with The Mirror on Saturday: “We are investigating after a man was hit by a car in Caroline Street, Birmingham.

“Shortly before 9pm on 3 February, the man was struck by a vehicle. It is believed he was involved in an argument with a woman shortly before the collision.
