Zara shoppers were left stunned after the Kate Moss collection launches with pricey pieces like a £700 leopard print jacket – but luckily we’ve found some more affordable options
The long-awaited Kate Moss collaboration with high street favourite Zara finally landed online and in stores last week, and although people were a fan of the designs, they were slightly less impressed with the price tags. One of the priciest pieces in the collection is the Leopard Print Leather Jacket, which retails for an eye-watering £699.
Whilst it’s made from real leather, the price point for a high street collaboration seems to have put many shoppers off, as it’s still available to buy despite the collection being expected to sell out. Although other, more moderately priced, pieces in the collab have completely sold out in all sizes, the more costly items, like the leopard leather jacket, remain on the virtual shelves.

One person wrote on Instagram: “It’s a gorgeous collection but only goes up to a size large, as a size 14/16 with big boobs there’s no chance. Plus it being fast fashion with quite a high retail price, a bit disappointing. The designs are gorgeous tho so was disappointed.”
Another added: “Careful – the products are not as well made as the high price would suggest. Some of them fall apart before even wearing them.”
A third agreed: “The whole Kate Moss line is a great disappointment, sorry Zara! All out dated, overpriced for cheap materials.Nothing was new or even exciting! So sorry to see this after all that hype and advertising. Love Zara for its unique design and quality but this is just gimmicky.”
However some were very pleased, saying: “Good god the packaging alone is breathtaking wow I did not expect that stellar presentation.”
However, don’t despair if you were amongst those eyeing up the jacket only to be let down by its high price point, because we’ve managed to track down a great alternative. This Animal Oversized Biker Jacket from Warehouse has just dropped into the Debenhams sale, slashing the price from £99 to £29.70 – and it’s still available in all sizes from a 6 to a 16.
The wide lapels and boxy fit are perfect for mimicking the silhouette of the Zara X Kate Moss leather jacket, however it does have a more cropped length compared to Zara’s oversized design. It’s also made of faux leather, rather than 100% real.
If you prefer a slightly smarter design, H&M’s leopard print Collared Jacket, £32.99, is a timeless style with a neat collar and two pocket design on the front. It can also be paired with the matching skirt, £18.99, for a co-ordinated, old money look.
