‘I love this foundation, it’s so silky and blendable and doesn’t look cakey or orange at all’
Beauty lovers will likely be familiar with bareMinerals, the cult-favourite brand that has been helping fans achieve flawless, natural-looking skin for three decades. To mark its 30th anniversary, the brand has launched a new product, and early reviews suggest it’s already living up to the hype.
The Original Pressed Powder Foundation (£36.50, LookFantastic) offers all the benefits of the brand’s best-selling loose mineral formula, but in a sleek, portable compact. Formulated to deliver medium coverage with a naturally radiant finish, the powder is designed for all-day wear without caking or drying.
Shoppers have already praised it for providing ‘great coverage without drying out skin’, which is a significant win for anyone prone to patchiness or tightness from traditional powders. Plus, it includes SPF 15 to help protect against sun exposure.
It’s available in 30 inclusive shades, from fair ivory to warm deep. It’s also talc-free and packed with hydrating and skin-loving ingredients, making it suitable for all skin types.

This hydrating pressed powder offers breathable coverage and a luminous finish.
Consumer tests show excellent results, too. According to bareMinerals, 100% of users said this mineral-infused formula diminished the appearance of imperfections and blemishes after four weeks of use, while 97% agreed they had a healthy skin look in the same period.
For more compact foundations, it might be worth considering the No7 Stay Perfection Compact Foundation (£14.95, Boots). The formula, which offers medium long-lasting coverage, had one shopper stating it ‘lasts well through the day without using a primer.’
Otherwise, Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in-Place Matte Powder Foundation (£41, Sephora) is a great luxury option. It claims to reduce the look of pores, as well as control oil and shine for up to 12 hours.
As mentioned, early bareMinerals reviews have been mostly positive. This person said: “I was sceptical about how it works on dry skin, but surprisingly it has a great coverage without drying out the skin. Super satisfied with the product.”
Meanwhile, a second shopper said: “I love this foundation, it’s so silky and blendable and gives the perfect amount of coverage. It doesn’t look cakey or orange at all, I would recommend.”
However, someone else warned: “I learned my lesson not to assume that if you wear a certain colour in the loose powder, it doesn’t mean that same colour will work in the pressed powder foundation. Need to return the colour I got for something a bit darker.”
But another Pressed Powder Foundation fan piped up: “Great coverage and quick to use. I’ve tried over-complexion rescue or sun cream on its own, and it always looks good.
“I got the same colour I use in the original loose, and they are the same shade. My skin looks natural after use, not cakey, and it lasts. I loved Ready Foundation when it was around, but I never got into Bare Pro. For me, this is much better, and I already have a spare. Very pleased.”
