One of the contestants on this year’s The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has a friend in popstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Sophie Ellis-Bexter went to school with one of the contestants on this year’s installment of The Traitors .

The British pop icon, 45, made the reveal when she was stopped in the street on a recent outing by a BBC reporter. While out and about on London’s Carnaby Street, doting mum Sophie was asked for her thoughts on the Claudia Winkleman fronted show.

The Murder on the Dancefloor hitmaker replied: “I just spend a lot of time thinking about whether or not I’d be a good Traitor. And also I realised I went to school with one of the contestants.”

While Sophie didn’t share anymore details, fans have since taken to social media to dissect the singer’s big reveal, noting Sophie was most likely referring to 44-year-old Francesca, an interior designer, given their similar age.

This year’s installment of The Traitors is shaping up to be as nail-biting as ever, with fan favourite Linda being sent home on Wednesday night after she was revealed to be a Traitor, not a Faithful.

But as Linda left for good, attention soon turned to who else was a Traitor. It wasn’t long before a handful of Faithfuls were questioning Minah, who so far has escaped suspicion from most of the contestants.

With Minah facing being alone and now needing to recruit some fans issued a plea to her and the show, as others made a major prediction about her future on the series. Minah is tipped to be banished next after her name came up as a possible Traitor.

She currently has no idea about this, and instead was tasked with picking who could join her next – with her hoping Charlotte might be swayed. But following Linda’s exit fans can’t help but fear the game is now up for her.

Taking to X, one fan said: “They’re coming for Minah next I can feel it.” A second added: “Uh oh, Minah is next,” while a third added: “Minah is so screwed omg.”

As for who she should recruit, fans begged her not to pick anyone to go it alone. A viewer said: “Minah don’t recruit you can do this.” Another agreed: “Minah stay a lone wolf, do not recruit, winner.” Another said: “I beg Minah doesn’t recruit,” as a fourth fan posted: “They don’t even need to recruit another Traitor Minah’s got this.”

It comes after fan favourite Fozia predicted Linda’s looming exit after she was murdered at the start of the show. She lost out in the first face-to-face murder, with Leon making it back to the castle after a brush with death.

As Minah and Linda identified themselves to their victim, Fozia asked what was going on. She then warned Linda: “You’re not gonna last. Linda you’re going next.”
