Strictly Come Dancing’s live tour is ending this weekend and the official page made a major announcement ahead of the final show
Strictly Come Dancing thanked fans for their support as they announced the return of the tour next year.
The BBC competition saw the stars and the professional dancers travel around the UK for the live tour, with the final show happening on Sunday evening. Captioning the post, the official Instagram page said: “And just like that, we’ve danced our way to The O2! The final stop of #StrictlyLive is here, with our last performance this Sunday!
“Thank you to all the incredible fans who’ve made this tour unforgettable—you have all been FAB-U-LOUS! But don’t worry… we’ll see you next year!” They also shared a compilation clips of the many incredible moments from the tour, including the stars on stage as well as them getting ready behind-the-scenes.
Strictly wrote on the video: “See you next year, keeeeep dancing!” Fans rushed to the comment section to praise the stars and thank them for the incredible tour – which came with a hiccup when Wynne Evans was sacked over his inappropriate remarks.
One user wrote: “One of the best live tours this year, just loved it! So sad it’s all over,” while another posted: “Best yet!! Loved @motsimabuse joining the tour! Perfect entertainment, have an absolutely F A B U L O U S last few shows.” One fan commented: “I’ve absolutely loved this strictly tour so much and it was such an incredible experience seeing the pro’s and all of the dancing, absolutely loved it.”
Wynne recently stepped away from the Strictly tour following his latest controversy. Wynne was recorded making an inappropriate sexual comment to Janette Manrara, who acts as host on the tour, when she walked over to the group. He sang out: “Go Compare,” before adding: “Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick].” He then used the hugely demeaning term “spit roast” in reference to a lewd sexual act.
He said at the time: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”
Following the announcement, Wynne’s Strictly partner, professional dancer Katya Jones, 35, reacted to the news. Sharing his statement, she wrote over it: “Let’s show humanity and consideration. I will miss you my darling boy.”
