Strictly pair Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal’s apparent fondness for each other continued back stage at the weekend as the pair cosied up following their movie night performance

Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal put on a steamy samba display on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night.

And it appears the pair’s connection followed through to back stage too, with the duo cosying up over drinks following the BBC show. The former TOWIE man, 36, was seen giving Polish dancer Jowita, 30, a peck as they cuddled into each other.

It comes shortly after the couple received an underwhelming score of 26 by the judges despite their show of affection on screen. Fellow dancer Gorka Marquez even joked the reality TV star had “magic hips” after the competition’s Instagram page shared the routine.

Pete dressed as George of the Jungle for Movie Week and stunned fans with his gyrating moves. Reflecting on his performance on the night, Pete confessed: “I absolutely hate the film, but I absolutely love the samba. George loves the samba.”

Pete and Jowita’s on-screen chemistry has apparently come from their alleged fondness of each other behind the scenes. The pair’s close bond has been labelled an “open secret” with it claimed Pete is falling “head over heels” for the professional dancer.

An insider told The Mail on Sunday: “Pete has fallen head over heels for Jowita. He thinks she is amazing in every way. The feeling is mutual from her side and things have definitely progressed between them. They are all over one another behind the scenes, in a way that a loved-up couple would be.”

The source went on: “It appears that we may have the first Strictly romance of the series, which is so exciting. They are the talk of the show. The other contestants are really happy for them. They are always smiling. It’s lovely. It will certainly brighten up the show following the dreadful saga around Giovanni (Pernice) and Amanda Abbington.”

The latest scenes of apparent cosiness isn’t the first time the pair have cuddled up off-screen. At the beginning of last month, the duo attended the National Television Awards and looked smitten.

And as the romance rumour mill continues to swirl, Pete’s best friend Sam Thompson added more fuel to the speculation after declaring: “Pete’s in love.” Things ramped up as Pete and Jowita revealed on Loose Women they plan to get matching tattoos if they win the Glitterball Trophy.

Sunday evening saw Toyah Willcox become the second celebrity to leave this year’s dance contest. For the second week running she was involved in the dance off, but this time around she wasn’t saved. Instead, former footballer Paul Merson progressed in the competition.
