Strictly Come Dancing is a show renowned for its glitz and sparkle – and host Tess Daly certainly delivered on the glamour front this weekend. Stepping onto the ballroom floor for the results show, the 56-year-old wowed viewers in a figure-hugging frock worthy of a perfect 10.

The former model, who has hosted the show since 2004, wore the Karen Millen One Shoulder Drapey Crepe Trim Detail Ruched Maxi Dress. Priced at £89, the elegant number is available from Karen Millen’s website, and fans were quick to take to Instagram to share their admiration.

Sharing a behind the scenes snap to Instagram, comments poured in beneath Tess’s post, with followers commenting: “Love your dress, Tess,” “Absolutely gorgeous, Tess,” and “Love that colour on you, Tess.”

Coming in a purple hue, the one-shoulder design gives it a red carpet-ready feel, while the figure-enhancing ruched crepe fabric drapes beautifully to show off Tess’ figure. The gold-tone hardware elevates the look further, making it ideal for formal occasions.

One fan did admit they weren’t quite taken with the colour, commenting: “Love the dress but not the colour.” But for those who find the purple a little over the top, the dress also comes in black and is on sale for £71.20.

This Karen Millen one-shoulder maxi dress exemplifies contemporary sophistication with its asymmetric neckline and artful ruching. The drapey crepe fabric gracefully contours the body whilst the gold-tone hardware adds a touch of refined glamour. Perfect for formal occasions, style with strappy heeled sandals and a structured clutch for weddings or evening galas.

Tess styled the dress with her signature sleek blonde locks and a pair of silver metallic heels with mixed metals proving to be a growing trend. While her shoes haven’t been identified, they do look similar to these Sosandar Silver Metallic Kitten Heel Slingback Court Shoes that she wore last year. Originally £59, they’re now down to £41 but are limited in their availability.

Ruched one-shoulder dresses are often very flattering, so it’s no surprise that there’s an abundance of them available on the high street and online. At Club L London – a retailer popular with celebrities – there’s the Port One-Shoulder Gathered Maxi Dress for £75. It’s designed in a dual-layered jersey renowned for its sculpting capabilities, further enhanced by full body ruching.

These rich, deep hues like purple and burgundy are great for the festive season, and another top choice for Christmas parties is this AX Paris Plum One Shoulder Knot Skirt Midi Dress. Priced at £50 at Debenhams, it boasts a statement one shoulder design, ruched top, side zip and a knot front draped midi length skirt with split.

But it wasn’t just Tess looking lavish on Sunday night. The results show saw Claudia wearing the Light Pink Tie-Neck Long Sleeve Blouse (£88) from the Tabitha Simmons X Next collection, and when her stylist Sinead McKeefry shared a link to the blouse during the show, it was still in stock in all sizes.

However a quick look this morning shows that it’s now sold out in sizes six, 10, 12 and 14, with only sizes eight and 16-22 still in stock now. Meanwhile, Tess’s frock comes in sizes XS to L and is still widely available on the Karen Millen website for £89.
