Actress and singer Suki Waterhouse has revealed that she was hospitaliSed six months ago due to a hernia caused by wearing a pair of pants that were far too tight on her.
The 33-year-old British performer and actress made the announcement via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday as she shared two contrasting photos. Suki shared one from a live performance on her Memoir of a Sparklemuffin tour, and another showing her lying in a hospital bed with earphones and a vape in hand.
In the caption, the Daisy Jones And The Six star addressed her lengthy absence from the social media platform, as she captioned the post: “Suki you never tweet anymore” – have you ever considered I wore pants so tight 6 months ago it caused a hernia and I’ve been too scared to tell you.”
In the hospital photo, the mum-of-one was seen holding a small blue vape pen, which caught the attention of a follower who commented: “Vape in the hospital is diabolical.” To which the singer replied: “So true.”
Several other fans responded with a more light-hearted approach and others shared their support. One wrote: “LMAO!!! That was me after surgery a few weeks ago. Vape in hand.” Another added: “Vape on the hospital bed so true girlfriend.”
Someone else commented: “Suki you are THAT girl. But publicly announcing that you vaped in a hospital bed is even shocking for my standards. Girl, I beg you to think about your digital footprint.”
Suki’s health revelation comes over a year after she and actor Robert Pattinson welcomed their first child in March 2024. The couple has not shared their daughter’s name publicly, but the 39-year-old Twilight star and Suki have been together since 2018 and are believed to be engaged.
Speculation around their engagement began in 2023 when the actress was seen wearing a diamond ring. In November of that year, she confirmed her pregnancy during a performance at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico.
“I’m extra sparkly today because I thought it might distract you from something else going on,” she told the audience at the time before opening her coat to reveal her blossoming baby bump.
In April 2024, Suki posted a photo on Instagram cradling her newborn, writing: “Welcome to the world angel,” accompanied by a red heart emoji.
She later confirmed the birth of a daughter during her Coachella set, telling the crowd: “Some pretty big events have been going down. I love amazing ladies and I’ve been very lucky to have my own little amazing lady and meet the love of my life.”
Speaking to British Vogue last year, she offered rare insight into her personal life, describing Pattinson as “the dad I could have hoped for.” She added: “I mean a dad and his daughter? It’s an actual love story.”
