The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating two separate incidents involving the same car which happened at two locations in east London on Saturday evening

Horror moment driver slams into pedestrian twice on residential street

This is the terrifying moment a car reverses into a pedestrian before hitting him a second time in front of horrified passersby.

Footage filmed from a house overlooking Eastfield Street in Tower Hamlets, London, shows a pedestrian being launched into the air as a white car hits him while reversing. Just moments after the pedestrian, dressed in orange, is knocked to the ground as a woman screams, the car was driven back towards him. The woman then screams, asking onlookers to “call the police” and at some point, the driver then appears to exit the vehicle, walk towards the victim and seemingly stamps on him.

The video also shows three passengers exiting the vehicle, with the driver and two passengers appearing to flee on foot. The incident happened on Saturday.

The Metropolitan Police said that just moments before, another driving incident – allegedly involving the same car – was reported in nearby Morpeth Street in Mile End. Scotland Yard confirmed detectives are investigating both incidents. In total, three people were hit by the same vehicle from around 9.15pm on June 14.

One man in his 20s was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for non-threatening injuries, following the incident in Mile End. My London reported that a second man was also hit in the collision but his condition is unknown.

After the incident that was caught on camera on Eastfield Street, paramedics treated a man in his 40s at the scene, police said. He was then taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. The police force said a man aged 18 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after three people were hit by the same car in two linked incidents in Tower Hamlets. Around 21:15hrs on Saturday, 14 June, officers attended Morpeth Street, E2, alongside the London Ambulance Service, where the first incident took place.

“One man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. The condition of the second victim is unknown, and we are urging him to contact the police.

“Shortly afterwards, police were called to nearby Eastfield Street, E14, after reports of a second collision. Paramedics treated a man in his 40s at the scene for injuries. He was taken to hospital, where his condition was assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.

“The four occupants of the vehicle left the scene on foot. On Sunday, 15 June, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been taken into police custody, where he remains.

“Police are making urgent enquiries to trace the three other people in the car. Anybody who witnessed the incident – or who has information – should call 101, quoting crime reference 7432/14JUN.”
