The supermarket chain has issued a warning as £17million worth of Clubcard vouchers are set to expire – if shoppers do not spend their Clubcard vouchers by 11:59pm on Friday, May 31 then they will be lost for good.
Tesco has issued a major warning to supermarket shoppers as they don’t have long left to cash in £17million worth of Clubcard vouchers.
The supermarket chain has issued multiple warnings over the last couple of weeks as its Clubcard vouchers are set to expire this week. If shoppers do not spend their Clubcard vouchers by 11:59pm on Friday, May 31 then they will be lost for good.
You can use your Clubcard vouchers to get a bit of money off your food shop or when filling up your car. You can also swap vouchers for money off your Tesco mobile bill. You can find out how many Clubcard points you have – and your vouchers – in Tesco’s Clubcard app or online. To use your voucher, you can either print them at home and scan them at the till or scan the voucher on your app.
Alongside this, you can use your points with one of Tesco’s Rewards Partners. The supermarket chain currently has over 100 Reward Partners including Disney+, Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Pizza Express, Legoland, Hotels.com, and Zizzi. If you choose to use them for a Rewards Partner, you get double the value of your points, so 500 points would be worth £5 in-store but £10 when spent with a Rewards Partner.
The supermarket chain warned earlier this week that almost £20million Reward Partner codes are due to expire over the next three weeks. Tesco has emailed customers urging them to check to see if any of their vouchers or reward codes are set to expire.
Ashwin Prasad, Tesco Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Tesco Clubcard holders can use the power of Clubcard to unlock all sorts of Bank Holiday fun, from saving on their shopping when they pick up their BBQ food, or to exchanging for two times value with 100-plus Reward Partners, offering everything from fun days out for the family to meals out at some of the UK’s most-popular restaurant chains.
“With millions of vouchers expiring at the end of this month, I would encourage all our Clubcard holders to check to see if they have a reward code to use up, because we don’t want anyone to miss out.”
How do I get Tesco Clubcard vouchers?
Clubcard members can build up points when they shop at Tesco and there is a range of ways you can do this. You get:
- One Clubcard point for every £1 spent in stores and online
- One point for every two litres of fuel bought from Tesco forecourts
- One point for every £1 spent on Tesco Mobile
- One point for every £4 spent on a Tesco credit card, and
- One point for every £1 spent using a Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card
Once you have collected enough Clubcard points, you can then convert them into vouchers. The minimum number of points you need is 150 – which will give you a voucher of £1.50. Once you have converted your points to vouchers they last for two years meaning the vouchers expiring this month were first issued in May 2022.
Under the rules, you can’t collect Clubcard points on tobacco or tobacco-related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formula milk, Tesco gift cards, third party gift cards, saving stamps, in-store concessions, Paypoint payments or purchases of some Tesco Bank products.
