A savvy mum named Becky Jest has shared the simple shopping hack that allowed her to get a free Bonne Maman chocolate spread when she did her Tesco food shop before sharing how to do it
Savvy shoppers are always on the lookout for the best deals in order to save some money during the cost of living crisis. And now, one Tesco shopper has shared how you can bag an exciting freebie from the supermarket.
If you’re doing your food shop online, there’s two words you can use to gain access to some free samples. While it may sound too good to be true, Becky Jest shared how. The thrifty shopper took to her TikTok account to reveal she’s managed to bag extra items, such as a Bonne Maman chocolate spread, at no extra cost with her online shopping.
“You can currently get this free sample of chocolate spread with your Tesco shop,” Becky said. in her video “Do it. It tastes like Ferrero Rocher in a tub.”
All Tesco Clubcard holders can get free samples when shopping online by searching for “sample” in the online store. This hack allows customers to add free samples to their online grocery orders, both for home delivery and click and collect. To qualify, ensure your basket totals £50
“And it’s free. It’s 250 grams, it’s a good size,” Becky said about the spread before the video ended.
Becky then continued to explain the process in a second clip. She said: “Go onto your [Tesco] app, it has to be an online shop…
“On your app, in the search bar, type in ‘free samples’ and it then shows you all the free samples you can get in the shop.”
She went on to say that all the free samples are subject to availability. As well as this, you have to spend a minimum of £50 in your shop in order to be able to get your hands on the offer.
“But then you can get some free samples,” Becky said, holding up her jar of chocolate spread.
She wrote in the caption of her first video: “Grab it and thank me later. But not if you have a nut allergy because this wouldn’t be good for you.”
However, several people took to the comments to share their own experiences. One said: “It’s amazing for a free sample – was pleasantly surprised.”
Another gushed: “It’s sooo good.” And a third added: “Omg that’s so cool.”
However, not everyone was successful. The freebies seem to vary depending on your location – but it’s definitely worth a look to see if there are any available in your app.
