Lord Sugar’s advisors interrogated the final five candidates Anisa Khan, Dean Franklin, Chisola Chitambala, Jordan Dargan and Amber-Rose Badrudin on the Apprentice tonight
The two finalists for the latest series of the Apprentice have now been announced. The news comes after the final five candidates were grilled by Lord Sugar’s “trusted advisors” on their business plans as part of the interviews stage.
Lord Sugar, 78, announced in tonight’s episode of the BBC show that Anisa Khan and Dean Franklin have been chosen as this year’s finalists. They had been up against Amber-Rose Badrudin, Chisola Chitambala and Jordan Dargan – who were fired in the same episode – for the opportunity.
Anisa and Dean, who are the owners of a pizza company and an air conditioning company respectively, had been grilled on their business plans by the likes of former aide Claude Littner. They were named as the two finalists from the final five after Lord Sugar received feedback from his advisors.
Previously, Anisa said: “My plan is to expand my pizza business by opening more dark kitchens in high-demand areas. This will allow me to grow the business strategically, introduce our innovative menu to more customers, and build towards establishing a nationally recognised brand.”
Whilst fellow candidate Dean said previously about his: “My business plan is to grow and expand my current business, it’s an air conditioning company that supplies and installs air conditioning units in homes or commercial properties.”
Tonight’s episode saw the final five have their business plans interrogated by Lord Sugar’s advisors, who included Linda Plant, Mike Soutar and Claudine Collins. The finalists were announced following feedback on the interviews.
In the boardroom, Lord Sugar fired Amber-Rose, Chisola and Jordan from the process – meaning that they have missed out on being finalists. They are the latest candidates to the fired, following the double firing that aired last week.
Amber-Rose’s business plan had centred on a bubble tea shop. Speaking about the proposal before the series began, she said: “[It’s] Oree Tea, which will be a separate bubble tea (boba tea) shop, showcasing the best of Taiwanese bubble teas, leveraging a pre-existing, keen customer base.”
Instead, Chisola’s business plan was about a business networking app. She previously said: “Our platform revolutionises the way entrepreneurs connect with vetted investors, eliminating the need for tedious bank loans or endless presentations.”
Animation entrepreneur Jordan wanted to expand his business into a team of 3D artists. He had said: “I want to turn my one-man band into an orchestra of the world’s most talented 3D artists to take my business to the next level.”
Anisa and Dean will compete against each other in next week’s final to win Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment. This year’s winner will follow in the footsteps of former candidate Rachel Woolford, who won the Apprentice last year.
The latest series of the Apprentice concludes next Thursday from 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with its final. It will be followed by You’re Fired from 10pm.
