Deal expert Jordon Cox has said there’s a specific day you’ll get the most for your money at the popular fast food chain

McDonald’s fans should mark their calendars as there’s officially the best day of the week to visit. People stand to make serious savings on their usual takeaway treats.

Jordan Cox, who frequently appears on ITV’s This Morning with money-saving tips and tricks, has taken to his Instagram feed with some news for fans of Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets. It turns out that there’s a best day of the week to visit McDonald’s – and it’s not for a weekend treat.

In fact, see it more as an early week pick-up as Jordan explained why fast food fans should plan a trip on Monday instead.

He said: “Do you know the best day to eat at McDonald’s? It’s now a Monday because the new ‘Deal Drop’ promotion offers three new deals each Monday on the McDonald’s app.”

Jordan shared that the deals are “unique to you,” meaning that if you scan the free-to-download app over time, they should reflect your preferences—be that for a tasty beef burger, sweet McFlurry, or freshly prepared breakfast. It’s worth having your friends and family check out their apps, as they could have a great deal just sitting in their pockets.

In his video, Jordan was given a discounted Big Mac for £1.49 as well as a separate code to cut 15% off his entire purchase. I tried my personal app and found that, as a frequent user of the McDelivery service, my offers reflected that. In my deals section, McDonald’s was tempting me with free delivery on a £15 spend as well as the same 15% off everything code.

In news shared earlier this week, McDonald’s bosses confirmed every customer would get the 15% code as standard as well as “one special offer selected just for the customer”.

Customers will be able to earn points when they make the most of the Deal Drop deals by opting into MyMcDonald’s Rewards. The scheme means every penny spent equals one Rewards point, so this week’s offers will allow customers to rack up points whilst also making huge savings on their order.

There is also an option for customers to donate the cash equivalent of their points to BBC Children in Need, FareShare and Ronald McDonald House Charities to support the company’s commitment to funding and supporting youth work, alongside reducing food poverty and waste in the UK.

McDonald’s customers don’t have to wait until next week to redeem these either. For a limited time, the offers can be used on any day of the week—up until January 26. Starting on January 27, they’ll revert back to weekly offers to kick-start your Monday.
