Roman Kemp has presented on The One Show for nearly a decade – however, few fans may realise that the radio DJ has an older sister who also works in the entertainment industry

Roman Kemp, son of Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and Shirlie and Pepsi’s Shirlie Kemp, has made a name for himself in the world of presenting over the past decade. From his stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! to hosting The One Show, Roman is a familiar face on our screens. However, many may not know that he has an older sister who keeps a low profile. Roman, 31, is the younger sibling in the Kemp family, having grown up with his elder sister Harleymoon, 35.

Over the years, Roman has shared sweet snaps of the Kemp siblings, who have a four-year age difference. Harleymoon has followed in her parents’ footsteps, carving out a career as a country music singer and is currently touring the UK. Besides music, Harleymoon has also ventured into photography, working for brands such as menswear label Hawes & Curtis and high street favourite Ghost. In a chat with pampelone.com, the brunette beauty revealed she started photography at 15.

“Honestly, picking art felt like the only subject I was going to get away with turning up late for class or not having the uniform on and I couldn’t draw so had to pick up a camera,” she said. “There was a shift, I fell in love with it, I was the last one in the classroom and handing in more projects then we had been allocated, started shooting bands every weekend and built a little studio in the basement of my parents house.”

During their teenage years, Roman and Harley Moon Kemp were often seen accompanying their parents to red carpet events, including the premieres of Harry Brown in Leicester Square and Age of Kill at The Ham Yard Hotel in 2015. Harleymoon launched her debut song in 2020 and followed it up with the track Home in 2023. In 2019, Harleymoon and the rest of the Kemp family were avid supporters of Roman during his stint on I’m A Celeb. Speaking to Lorraine at the time, Harleymoon admitted they were “so nervous” about seeing him in the jungle.

“We were so nervous for him to go. We’ve always loved the show, so that fact that Little Roman is going on the show I couldn’t believe it really,” she confessed. “We’ve spent all our money on phone bills trying to get him locked in the dungeon.” More recently, Harleymoon penned a heartfelt message to her younger brother as he celebrated his 30th birthday. Sharing a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Welcome to thirties little brother! (Even though you’ve always acted way older than me) Watching your talent and how much joy you bring people is so inspiring.”

“You have so much focus and dedication and still make time to be there for your schoolmates and to call mum every day (or hour! ). I know when we were kids I could sometimes be a little mean, scaring you, not wanting you to play with my friends or not letting us hug but only touching feet as a comfort. But I loved singing with you, doing shows in the living room, going to Camden market to get our criminal damage jeans and slipknot hoodies, watching Keenan and Kel/ Will Ferrell and Deep Blue Sea on repeat and then having to listen to you quote it for the next 20 years.”
