There are certain dresses that become staples in your wardrobe because they work for just about every occasion. The Black One Shoulder Crochet Trim Sabrina Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child is one of those pieces for me. I ordered it as just another black dress, but it’s become the one oiece I find myself reaching for again and again, no matter the occasion.

When I first tried it on, I didn’t expect it to be anything out of the ordinary, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit and how slim it made me feel. The one-shoulder style is flattering without being overly dramatic, and the midi length is a perfect balance between casual and dressy. I didn’t have to think too much about accessorising, either– this dress can hold its own. It’s easy, comfortable and feels right for a whole host of occasions.

What makes the Sabrina Midi Dress stand out is how it’s seemingly simple, but also incredibly flattering. The waist-cinching design creates a nice shape, but it’s not tight or uncomfortable. The fabric drapes well, and the crochet trim adds just enough detail to make the dress interesting without drawing too much attention. It’s a piece that looks polished but doesn’t need extra time to style – ideal for when you’re rushing out of the house for work or for a dinner.

I wear it when I want something reliable, something I know will look good and feel easy to wear. It works whether I’m going to a casual gathering or something a little more formal. I can dress it up with heels or down with sandals, and it still looks great either way.
