Traitor Minah has become a fan favourite on this series of The Traitors, as she has played an excellent game being a team player during the day while killing off Faithfuls each night
There are only three more episodes of this series of The Traitors to go, and fans will soon discover whether Minah makes it to the final, is uncovered by the Faithful or even betrayed by fellow Traitor Charlotte before the end.
When she’s not busy murdering Faithfuls in her hooded cloak, 30 year old Minah Shannon is a call centre manager in Liverpool, where she lives with her husband Liam and adorable two year old daughter Luna. While Minah had to keep her involvement in The Traitors a secret up until the series aired, she has always shared sweet memories from her personal life with fans online, including photos of Luna, and a stunning black and white image from her wedding in December 2020.
Her photos give a glimpse of her life outside the Traitors castle, including outings with her family, holidays in Spain and Rhodes, and a few cameo appearances from her French Bulldog Finn, who has his own Instagram account and joined Minah’s family as a puppy in 2021.
The family have all been supporting Minah’s time on The Traitors, with Liam and his mother being the ones who encouraged her to apply for the series in the first place. “Me, my husband and my mother-in-law love the show – we’ve watched the Australian one and the celebrity one from America,” she explained as the series launched. “I think I like it because I like playing pranks on people and telling them little white lies, innocent lies – I think that’s probably what drives me.”
Minah initially applied after the first season, and revealed she got quite far with her application. “After season one, a couple of friends and family members sent me the link to apply and I thought I’ve got nothing to lose and I probably won’t hear anything, so I did it. I got through the first few stages for season two, but it got to the point of asking work for time off, and I wasn’t able to get the time off,” she said.
“So, it was one of those things where, if something’s meant to happen, it’s meant to happen, and if there’s a reason it doesn’t happen, it was never meant to be. After season two, people kept saying to me that I’d be so good on that show, so I applied again, and here I am!”
One of the reasons Minah may have lasted so long in the show is because she is competitive. “My husband’s family are all so competitive. I think it’s because they were dancers growing up and they used to do competitions,” she said. “I think if you’re around that energy that much, like I am, you become quite competitive. For example, when Liam said he was going to learn to drive, my immediate response was, I’m going to learn how to drive first. If you can do it, I can do it. I passed first, and he started three months before me!”
She also revealed that she has her husband in mind when it comes to how she would spend the prize money should she win The Traitors.
“The first thing I’d do is book me and my husband a honeymoon,” she said. “We got married in December 2020, in the height of Covid, and we had a really small wedding, which was lovely, but it wouldn’t have been my choice and we didn’t get a honeymoon. I’d love for us to go traveling around America for three weeks.”
