This Morning chef Marcus Bean revealed he started making a change to his lifestyle in December last year after being ‘stressed’ and ‘unhappy’
This Morning chef Marcus Bean showed off his incredible body transformation after ‘struggling with his weight’ over the last five to six years. The 46-year-old TV star took to his Instagram page to share a motivational video compiled of clips from his exercise sessions, as well as before and after videos.
He also posted a picture of his knee operations and added a few pictures of himself looking healthier and happier as he showed off his toned physique. Although he didn’t ‘want to post’ the video, he thought it was ‘really important’ to show all sides of life to social media.
He wrote in the caption: “Being a chef and surrounded by food all my life has had its perks , but my fitness levels and body have changed so much over the years. And I’ve especially struggled with my weight over the last 5-6 years.

“The combination of long hours in the kitchen or at shows, stress, money worries, not feeling good enough, the list goes on. November 2024 I wasn’t happy, life was busy and stressful as always, which I’m very thankful for.
“I’d had both my knees operated on in the space of a year. I hadn’t been able to run and had completely lost any motivation. December 2024 I decided it had to change, I had London marathon 2025 coming up and had to sort myself out just to get over the finish line. “I kept it simple aimed to run 3 miles a day, trying to do this 3-4 days a week, I also combined the running with a few body weight exercises to increase my strength.”
Marcus added: “It’s taken time, and after 7 months I’m starting to feel proud of what I’ve achieved so far. I don’t have a PT, I don’t have a nutritionist, I’ve just created my only little plan, eating better as much as possible, upping my protein and reducing my carbs.
“One thing I don’t do is diet, I also don’t weigh myself, just use my clothes and how they fit as a measure of progress.”
He said he went through the transformation to ‘make better choices when possible around work and everyday life.’ The chef is ‘feeling proud of himself’ and is ‘giving himself some credit’ over his impressive achievements.
Friends and fans complimented Marcus over the lifestyle overhaul, with one user writing: “What an open and honest post Marcus…thank you for normalising so many aspects of life that so many struggle with.. you aren’t alone! I hope you’re super proud of what you’ve achieved you look fabulous!”
“Love this Marcus. Such an inspiration, congratulations!” another posted. Marcus is best known for his appearance on This Morning, but also won Iron Chef UK and appeared on What’s Cooking, MunchBox, The Saturday Show and more.
He completed the London marathon seven times and wrote a book called The Good Chicken Cookbook: Over 100 Delicious and Sustainable Recipes.
