England star Jude Bellingham was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s most recent squad with the likes of Morgan Rogers performing well for the Three Lions in his absence
Thomas Tuchel says he will hold talks with Jude Bellingham and has warned that every player must “buy in” to his World Cup plans. Tuchel insists that Bellingham is a big, important player” despite leaving him out of the camp which saw England clinch their place in the United States next summer.
Real Madrid star Bellingham, 22, missed out as he recovers from shoulder surgery but he also faces a major fight to get his place in the squad for next month’s qualifiers with Serbia and Albania. Three Lions boss Tuchel has made it very clear that no individual is bigger than the team and he repeated his determination to stick with the players who have clinched qualification.
When asked whether he will speak to Bellingham before naming his squad next month, Tuchel said: “I guess so. Why not? Of course, he’s an important player, he’s a big player.
“I will speak to a lot of players, also to the guys that will get a text from me who were not in camp. Because these guys who are now here, they have the reward, and they feel the reward. And it’s now necessary also that I stay in touch with the other guys.
“No one has done anything wrong. It’s not a punishment or whatever. And I feel when I text them and I speak to them, that everyone is eager to come back. And this is how it has to be. And I trust in more players than are here.

“We always speak about the same names, but we have Conor Gallagher, we have Trevoh Chalobah, and we have Cole Palmer injured. So there are a lot of guys out there who would deserve to be with them, and who are hungry and determined to be with us. It has to be like that.
“But I don’t doubt, if we invite them, then we are sure that they will buy in. Otherwise, we will not invite them. Why would we? This is a non-negotiable.”
Tuchel has promoted Morgan Rogers ahead of Bellingham after his performances last month and also he was part of the winning team against Wales and Latvia. The German coach insisted that togetherness and team spirit is vital for next summer and that was something captain Harry Kane reiterated in a dressing room speech after the game in Latvia.
Tuchel added: “Harry just gave a speech in the dressing room and he wants everyone to arrive with the same hunger and that we keep on building on what we are having, we are not gambling on it, and take nothing for granted.
“It is a special day, and next camp comes so quickly, so we don’t have a lot of possibilities to build things.
“But the situation is now the situation, and maybe we have the chance to invite, maybe more players, share some minutes, or whatever, but the bottom line in whatever we will decide, I don’t want to give up on the thought to have a competition to keep the thing going.”
