This time of year can be expensive, with social events piling up in the calendar, seasonal holidays and school summer breaks on the horizon. But, this doesn’t mean consumers can’t treat themselves and go out to eat, with many country pubs and restaurants across the UK offering deals so diners can tuck in to delicious meals for less.

From discounts at pooch-friendly pubs to three-course meals at family-favourites including the Harvester and roast dinner feasting at less than £12 each at Toby Carvery, we’ve compiled some of the best deals around this summer. We have included what the offers are, as well as where you can find these eateries in the UK.

Whether it’s a birthday celebration, a romantic date night, or a laid-back lunch in the sun, each pub or restaurant chosen provides an extensive food and drinks menu, catering to all kinds of tastes. Think pub classics such as freshly battered fish and chips, as well as mouthwatering vegetarian and vegan options.

Three Courses for £30 at Vintage Inns

Vintage Inns has 170 dog-friendly pubs across the UK and this summer, diners and their furry friends can enjoy a three course meal for £30 at any location. Every Friday and Saturday from 6pm, tuck into dishes from their indulgent set menu, in a picture-perfect country setting. Expect honey-baked whole camembert for two to share, tender slow-cooked pork belly and a decadent lemon tart for pud.

Better yet, for £20, a bottle of wine can be added onto the deal. Those visiting during the day can choose from the Lunch Set Menu from £17.50 for two courses. Crowd pleasers including beef and red wine lasagne are for the taking, as well as new dishes like the chicken katsu rice bowl.

Diners that have already eaten at Vintage Inns have left reviews on the website Trust Pilot. Visiting the Hare & Hounds in Yorkshire, one person said: “The meals we ordered were of the Saturday evening special menu 3 courses for £30. The food was cooked to perfection and very tasty in every way. The service we received from all involved was exceptional.”

Another diner at the Titchfield Mill in Fareham was left ‘frustrated’ as their ‘drink order was incorrect’ and they ‘didn’t have the right condiments on the table and had to walk round the restaurant to find them’.

But, The Angel in Chelmsford received a glowing report from a five-star diner, sharing: “Very impressed, table was ready. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Well presented, hot and very good value.”

Two Courses for £22.99 at Toby Carvery

Coming in at less than £12 each for two adults, this Wowcher Toby Carvery deal is valid until September 2025, Monday through to Saturday. There are over 150 Toby Carvery locations nationwide, so diners are bound to find one close by, and they can choose from a variety of roast dinner dishes, including the famous carvery, cheesy mushrooms and honeycomb dream sundae.

Those that want to take the whole family can nab two courses for two adults and two children for £32.99. That comes in at around £8.20 each. The offer has been met with a plethora of glowing reviews, such as one person who was ‘very impressed’ with ‘the service and food was delicious’. The deal itself is also ‘easy to download and use’ and shoppers ‘do not need to choose a date to use’.

Describing the experience as ‘brilliant value for money’, it has been noted by one person that ‘it does get busy at times’ and it might not be to everyone’s taste. Another customer found that while the ‘roast potatoes aren’t the best’, a Toby Carvery still wins as their ‘favourite meal’.

Three Courses for £40 at Harvester

The Harvester is a family favourite with delicious grub like scampi, rotisserie chicken, burgers, brownies and not to forget the unlimited salad bar on offer. Diners can head to their nearest Harvester restaurant until September 2025 and from Sunday to Friday grab three courses for £40 via Wowcher. Two adults and two children can also get three courses for £50, making each diner’s bill come in at £12.50.

Perfect for special occasions as there’s something on the menu everyone will love, including vegetarian and vegan delights, with more than 150 locations around the UK, diners shouldn’t have to travel far. Consumers keep coming back for more, with one reviewer saying it is such ‘top value for money’ they have visited three times and ‘will return’.

Another person said: “Really good value for money, lots of choice available, would recommend buying this deal.” But, someone was a bit disappointed as they thought the menu had a lot of ’emphasis on chicken and no steak’.

Fish and Chips Feast for £36 at Proper Pubs

Freshly battered fish with piping hot, salty chips, all washed down with wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage, is a fabulous way to kick-start summer. This year, Virgin Experience Days is offering this classic meal for two with a voucher costing £36, valid at more than 200 Proper Pubs in the UK.

Whether treating yourself, or buying it for a loved one, the dining experience has been rated very highly by customers. One person said: “Honestly don’t know where to start. The food was astonishing we ate every last bite! The service was 10/10 the place was lovely. The staff were friendly! Definitely going back again.”

Someone else visited the Three Bulls in Newcastle, writing: “Food was fantastic, staff went above and beyond so friendly will definitely be back.” Consumers are limited to fish and chips, so no vegan options, however, soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits and mixers are included.

Boozy Brunch for £39 at TGI Fridays

Enjoy ten cocktails to share, three small plates and two portions of house fries at one of TGI Fridays 48 nationwide locations for £39. The Wowcher boozy brunch for two includes five drinks each, with options of Prosecco, cocktails, lager, mocktails and more, alongside small plates to nibble on.

Proving value for money, one person that left a review said: “We enjoyed our boozy brunch, perfect for a little date night and great price. Overall it should have cost us £80.” Another person was pleasantly surprised, writing: “Fantastic experience… attentive waiters and fabulous food and drinks I was expecting it to be as good as it was will definitely be buying another voucher.”

However, another said to be wary about the time you go, as their mixed review noted some slow service. They shared: “Enjoyed every minute fabulous deal. Only issue was a long wait to get order taken as not enough staff to cope with the customers. No complaint about the staff demeanour, very polite.”
