Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had a message for singer Gracie Abrams as she prepared to take the stage with Taylor Swift during a recent London concert

Travis Kelce played a key role in calming the nerves of singer Gracie Abrams before she performed alongside Taylor Swift in what was one of the biggest moments of her career.

Abrams has opened up about how Kelce’s words helped her stay composed before she took to the stage at Wembley in London last month. The young singer joined Swift on stage to perform her song ‘Us’, with Abrams on piano and Swift on acoustic guitar.

The moment was a significant one for Abrams’ budding career, and she credits Kelce’s reassuring advice as a major factor in her performance. The NFL superstar, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, is in a high-profile relationship with Swift.

Abrams recalled: “Before we both went on we were in the tent, and he went on right before I did – I think two songs or something. He’s like, ‘I’ll mess up so that you look really good.'”

Abrams, the daughter of Star Wars director J.J. Abrams, is just starting out in her music career. Her performance with Swift in front of over 90,000 people in London was a huge boost to her rising stardom. The 24-year-old had nothing but praise for everyone involved with Swift’s Era’s Tour, expressing how much she enjoyed being part of it and performing one of her own tracks.

She shared with Billboard: “The thing is … it’s just a community of really supportive people. Truly, everyone, whether you’re in the tent or in the top row in the stadium, it’s like everyone is there because there is such deep joy and feeling associated with all of the music that she’s put out over the past 18 years. It’s a really magical thing. “

This sentiment was reinforced during Swift’s concert when boyfriend Kelce made his stage debut. Kelce delighted surprised fans by joining Swift on stage for a performance of ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’.

Dressed in a tuxedo, Kelce seemed to playfully powder Swift’s nose as the crowd erupted into cheers. This marked the first time the NFL star has taken part in Swift’s performances, although he is a frequent fixture at her global concerts, from Melbourne and Buenos Aires to Amsterdam and London.

Kelce is likely to remain with the Swift for the next few days, but most return to the Kansas City Chiefs shortly with him set to begin training camp – hoping to be a part of the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive championships should they win the Super Bowl this season.
