Two teens – aged just 18 and 19 – died when a yellow Honda 125cc bike crashed on Wrexham Road, New Broughton, with it believed to be the only vehicle involved

Two teenagers have died in a horrific late-night motorbike crash. The male driver and his pillion passenger were both killed in the horror accident in Wrexham with cops asking the public for any further information.

The crash, which only involved the motorbike, happened on Friday night just before 11pm. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Wrexham Road, New Broughton, only to find a smashed up yellow Honda 125cc bike. The young men on board were aged 18 and 19. They were rushed to hospital but were pronounced dead a short time later. The road was closed into the morning to allow investigators time to work.

The families of the two teens killed have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Sergeant Liam Morris of the Serious collision Investigation Unit urged anyone with information on the crash to get in touch.

He said: “Our profound sympathies are with all affected by this tragic incident. We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision and are yet to speak to us, or anybody who may have been travelling in the area at around the time of the collision, or just prior, who has dashcam footage of a yellow motorcycle with two males onboard to contact us.

“We’d also like to thank those who stopped to help at the scene, and to motorists for their patience whilst the road was closed to allow our Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out their initial enquiries.”

Officers can be contacted regarding this case via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000236736.

A white Audi, silver Kia Ceed and black Volkswagen Passat collided close to the Holdingham roundabout in Sleaford at around 4.45pm on Wednesday, Lincolnshire Police said.

The young boy suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital following the incident. He died in hospital at around 1.20am on Friday, the force said. His family is being supported by specially-trained officers. The driver of the Volkswagen Passat, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving on Thursday.

He has since been released on bail with investigations into the cause of the collision ongoing, Lincolnshire Police said. Other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who travelled along the A17 between Sleaford and Newark between 4.15pm and 4.45pm on Wednesday, or may have dashcam footage of the incident or the vehicles involved, has been asked to contact the force on 01522 212316, quoting incident 305 of 19 March.
