A pretty spot in the UK has been crowned as the most beautiful Michelin-starred restaurant in the world.
Three-Michelin-star restaurant Sketch, based in London, has been named as the best Michelin-starred restaurant on the Globe by experts at The Luxury Travel Book.
Sketch’s three Michelin star restaurant, known as ‘The Lecture Room & Library’, blurs the lines between immersive experience, gallery and restaurant. Over the years, Sketch has become known for its artsy décor and brilliant food. On Instagram, you will come across snaps of their toilets, which seem to be an attraction in themselves.
Located in Mayfair, the restaurant features a maximalist interior inside of a Grade II listed townhouse with a glass-ceilinged dome and stucco ceilings. As for the food, the cuisine is ‘modern French’ and guests can choose from separate dishes or a tasting menu — which is also available for vegetarians.
Sketch houses many different venues, including The Lecture Room & Library resides behind a set of lavish doors. In total, the venues sprawl out across two floors in a townhouse on Conduit Street in Mayfair. Other venues in the building include The Gallery, The Parlour, The Glade and finally, The East Bar and Pods.
The Pods refer to the famous egg-shaped toilets at Sketch, which have been plastered over social media thousands of times. Sketch was not the only restaurant in London to make it into the top 10. Placing joint tenth, Dinner by Heston is celebrated for its innovative tastes on British classics.
Lyles, a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Shoreditch, London, also ranked second as the world’s most in-demand restaurant, averaging 90,500 monthly searches. Based on The Luxury Travel Book’s findings, London ranked as the fourth best city in the world for fine dining overall, with 103 stars across 80 Michelin-starred restaurants.
