The body of 27-year-old Kamonnan Thiamphanit was found at her Westminster home after she was stabbed to death, with her boyfriend now saying “unusual” searches were made on her YouTube account

The boyfriend of a woman found murdered at her London home has revealed “unusual” searches were made on her YouTube account including violent rap music.

Kamonnan Thiamphanit, who was known to friends in the UK as Angela, was found dead at her Westminster home having suffered stab wounds on April 8. The 27-year-old, who had dual Chinese-Hong Kong and Thai nationality, was working in property management and had been living in the UK for around nine years, since initially coming over to study at university.

Friends have said Angela suddenly left a board game party just before her disappearance, saying that she had an “emergency”. Two days later police forced their way into her property where they found her body and launched a murder enquiry.

The Met Police stated: “A murder investigation was launched after police forced entry to a property in Stanhope Place, W2 at approximately 08:30hrs on Monday, 8 April. The body of 27-year-old Angela was found inside the address suffering stab injuries. Angela lived at the address.”

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell told Westminster Coroner’s Court that a person, whose name has not been released, is a suspect. She added that officers have asked the Crown Prosecution Service whether there is sufficient evidence to extradite that person from outside the UK.

Angela’s boyfriend Chris Zeng has now said that he has seen her YouTube search history, which has music that she “would never listen to” that was being played at her home from 2.38am until 7.26am on April 6. The songs included lyrics about knife and gun violence, he told The Times.

Her family said last week that Angela had agreed to rent out her home on April 5 for around £30,000. Mr Zeng, who is based in Singapore and had a long-distance relationship with the victim, said that the man interested in renting her property – who had contacted her through Airbnb – said he had “flown to London on a private jet”.

Mr Zeng claims the man had wanted to see the house first before he agreed to pay the money for the rent, and they are believed to have met before Angela had her regular meeting with friends for a murder mystery game called Werewolf.

The man then is said to have begun moving his belongings into the home with the plan to stay that evening while she would go to a hotel. Mr Zeng also claimed that the rap music was stopped twice during the five hours it was played and then later Angela messaged him in English – which was unusual as it was not the language they normally communicated in.

The following day Mr Zeng reportedly asked friends to visit her home having not had a response from Angela and the group who went to see her went to the police after not being able to contact her.

Following her death, Angela’s family gave a statement via the Met Police stating: “We are unspeakably hurt by the loss of our dearly loved one and are sincerely thankful for the relentless efforts of the British police in investigating this tragic event. We believe that with the commendable teamwork and dedication of the police, this case will be resolved swiftly, thereby preventing any further innocent victims.”
