Essex Police are looking for Jethro Cox who is missing from Chelmsford along with four young children – Jethro is 6ft tall, with brown hair, stubble and tattoos on his arm

An urgent search was launched to find a man from Chelmsford who went missing with four young children – but police say all five have since been located safely.

Jethro Cox, 38, was last seen at his home in Chelmsford and was with four children aged five, four and two two-year-olds. Members of the public were urged to contact the authorities immediately with any information on him.

Cox is described as being 6ft tall, with brown hair, stubble and tattoos on his arm. He was dressed in a white jumper, jeans and white trainers when he was last seen, and is thought to have been driving a white Ford C-Max. Essex Police said he has links to Romford and Hainault in east London and “may have travelled in that direction from Essex”.

The force previously said in a statement: “We’re working hard to find Jethro Cox, who is missing from his home in Chelmsford. We believe the 38-year-old is with four children aged five, four and two two-year-olds and is driving a white Ford C-Max. We’re concerned for his welfare and we’ve got officers searching for him. If you’ve seen Jethro and the four children, or if you know where they are, please call us immediately on 101.”

Essex Police later said: “Good news! We’re no longer searching for Jethro Cox who had been missing with four children. All five individuals have been located safely and without incident. We thank everyone who took the time to share our appeal; your efforts really do make a difference.”
