Sergei Karaganov has been appointed by the Kremlin to ensure Russia continues to manage ‘deterring the west’ – and believes Putin should nuke the entire of Europe
Russian president Vladimir Putin has appointed his latest right-hand man to government and he goes by the chilling name, “Professor Doomsday”.
Political scientist Sergei Karaganov, 71, has been hired by the Kremlin to ensure the country is “deterring the West” effectively. He believes that Russia should nuke the West and the entire of Europe to test the US commitment to their allies. Putin’s pal has previously made several alarming remarks including that Russians have “despotic DNA” and feels strongly that “Russia cannot lose” to the West.
He has previously instructed Putin to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Europe and believes the West views them as an inferior nation. Last year, Karaganov said a Russian nuclear strike would save the world from an all-out war. He said that no country would consider responding back to a strike because it would leave the world in “radioactive ruins”. He further said the West would need to “retreat strategically, or even surrender” in order for Russia to win the war in Ukraine.
He made the stance as part of a 2,000-word essay which said: “The enemy must know that we are ready to deliver a pre-emptive strike in retaliation for all of its current and past acts of aggression in order to prevent a slide into global thermonuclear war.” Karaganov was named as one of the first people in Russia to admit that they live under an authoritarian state. He has previously been linked to strengthening Putin’s relationship with China, as he has applauded the country for how they run things, reports The Sun.
Speaking about Russia’s genetic code, Karaganov earlier said: “Russia is genetically an authoritarian power. Russia’s authoritarianism was not imposed from above but is the result of our history which has formed our genetic code.” Putin recently ordered tactical nuclear weapons testing as the Kremlin threatened Western officials. They said if the West continues to help Ukraine then a “worldwide catastrophe” would happen.
It comes after the Russian leader paraded his nuclear football in a stark warning to the West as Russia marked its annual Victory Day with a show of might. Three of his hulking Yars atomic missile launchers thundered over the cobbles in Moscow and the presidents plain-clothed aides carried the nuclear briefcase or ‘football’ – which could be used to start World War Three.
The parade was hit by snow in the bleakest and coldest conditions in 79 years at the ceremony which marked victory over Hitler. The conditions matched the dictator’s icy warning, as he told his troops: “Russia will do everything to prevent a global clash. But at the same time, we will not allow anyone to threaten us. Our strategic [nuclear] forces are always in a state of combat readiness.”
