Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain will meet on Sunday in the FIFA Club World Cup final. Enzo Maresca’s men are 90 minutes away from a second piece of silverware following their UEFA Conference League win at the end of the season, but their toughest challenge is yet to come.

They face the European champions tonight, who have cemented their status as one of the world’s best clubs. The French side demolished Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final with goals from Ousmane Dembélé, Gonçalo Ramos and a Fabián Ruiz double.

It comes just one month since their 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the Champions League final, with the Club World Cup offering a cherry on the cake of their sensational season. But Chelsea have also been largely in solid form throughout the tournament.

They comfortably beat Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0 in the semi-final, with both goals coming from João Pedro in his full debut. Following the game on Tuesday, Maresca hailed his team’s ‘great achievement’.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “It is a great achievement. It has been a fantastic season – top four in the Premier League, Conference League [winners] and now in the final of this competition. We are so, so happy.”
