Mark Wright can probably be forgiven for sounding a little worn out on his morning radio show following the birth of his first baby with wife Michelle Keegan. The reality star-turned-DJ admitted he was a “little bit tired” before going live on his Saturday Breakfast show with best pal and co-host Olly Murs, but claimed it wasn’t caused by three-week-old Palma Elizabeth Wright, who was born on March 6.

Mark posted on his Instagram stories ahead of the weekly show, saying “get us on the radio, 9am ’til…” before turning to his producers to ask what time he went off-air. “I’m a little bit tired today” he then admitted, before adding “I had a couple of beers last night”.

Palma Elizabeth was a very welcome addition to the Wright household

The former TOWIE star didn’t say who he’d been drinking with, but he could be forgiven for enjoying a few celebratory drinks following Palma’s birth, which he said previously had made him “realise what life is all about.”

Chatting to Olly about becoming a dad for the first time, the 38 year old revealed: “That moment when I held her in my arms, it gets me emotional now thinking about it. I suppose everything else goes out the window and its made me realise what life is all about and my little baby Palma I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

“It’s a very special feeling. I cant really put it into words. We’ve waited a little bit of time, we’ve chased our dreams and our careers and now we’re here. We’ve got a baby.”

When Mark returned to the Heart FM studio a few days after the birth, he said he was “badly” missing his daughter, but would be video calling his actress wife Michelle during his off-air breaks.

He also commended the Ten Pound Poms star, 37, for being a superhero, and said he had a new-found respect for mums everywhere.

“It’s the biggest achievement of my life its all I think about but obviously hats go off to my wife she is an absolute super human, a superhero for bringing this baby into the world,” he said, adding, “It makes you realise what our mums did for us and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women had to go through.”

The couple, who will celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary on May 24 this year, have been living in a “perfect love bubble” at their £3.5m Essex mansion after keeping Palma’s birth a closely-guarded for a week.

A source claimed, “They wanted to keep the news very private and bask in the glory of a new-born without any distractions without the world knowing. They are in a perfect love bubble with no external noises, and it’s been total and utter bliss.”
