The meal has been described as better than the likes of a popular Wagamama dish with the pub chain – known for cheap drinks and affordable food – offering a cut-price alternative

A Wetherspoon worker has revealed their secret favourite meal which isn’t known by many fans – and only costs £6.

It has been described as better than the likes of a popular Wagamama dish with the pub chain, which is known for cheap drinks and affordable food, offering a cut-price alternative. Now, one staff member has questioned why people don’t try out this cheap dish rather than pay up to double elsewhere.

Macey Newberry took to TikTok to share the secret item with her followers which she admits is her “go-to”. During the video the worker could be seen tucking into a bowl of chicken ramen – something which is made of broth, noodles, chicken and veg. She says: “If you were to get a ramen anywhere else in England, like a Wagamama, you’d be paying at least £11 or £12. So, for six quid I can hand on heart say this is better than a Wagamama.”

Describing the meal, the staff member said the dish had “depths of flavour” and preferred it to Wagamama’s “dishwater” tasting ramen, the Daily Express reports. So far, the video has more than 160,000 views with 7,000 likes. However, some people were split on whether they agreed with Newberry or not. One person wrote: “The noodles are way too soggy I found.” While another added: “It has no flavour! I work in Spoons so maybe it’s just our pub.”

A third added: “I work at Wetherspoons but the food gets boring after a bit.” With a fourth person saying: “Always wanted to try it but so scared it will taste bad, like curry/chicken pot noodles/super noodles ect. please confirm it doesn’t taste like that.”

Many people, however, agreed with the Wetherspoon worker and loved the cheap dish. Someone said: “I love it! Way better than the Wagas chicken ramen. The Spicey one slaps though.” While a second person raved about the dish, adding: “It looks like it has a lot more flavour than wagas ones.”

A third supporter commented: “I’ve been wanted to try it for ages, you’ve twisted my arm I’m defo gonna have to try it now.” While an additional backer said: “Had this couple weeks ago and it slapped not gonna lie.” Customers who want to add extra spice to their Wetherspoons ramen can add garlic chilli sauce to the dish, Newberry advised.
