Selling Sunset is set to return to screens in a matter of weeks and the dramatic trailer for series nine shows newcomer Sandra Vergara make her debut as she joins the group
A Selling Sunset newcomer has a surprising connection to a familiar Modern Family star.
Netflix has dropped a brand new trailer for season 9 of Selling Sunset which is set to premier later this month on October 29.
Familiar faces are back, alongside some fresh new faces as Netflix Tudum teases: “The sun is rising on massive deals and intense drama for The Oppenheim Group agents. Selling Sunset is returning for Season 9, and with new episodes come new faces.”
One star is set to make her on screen debut as she teases some “jaw-dropping moments” that fans won’t see coming as well as “unexpected twists”.
In the thrilling trailer, fans are introduced to Sandra Vergara. After “new energy” is teased, Sandra then walks onto the scene as she introduces herself to agent Mary Bonnet, stating: “I’m Sandra Vergara.”
She is then asked: “Like Sofia Vergara?” – referring to the Modern Family star, as Sandra confirms “We’re related.”
Sofia is well known for her stint on Modern Family with the role of Gloria Delgado-Pritchett. She has also been seen on Griselda as well as Hot Pursuit.
Netflix’s Tudum confirmed the Selling Sunset star was the cousin and adoptive sister of Sofia. They teased: “If that last name rings a bell: Yes, she’s the cousin and adoptive sister of fellow actor Sofía Vergara (Griselda).”
Speaking to Tudum about her Selling Sunset debut, Sandra said: “I’ve always had an eye for design and a love for people, so combining that in real estate just clicked.
“I’d seen [Selling Sunset] and always thought the women were incredibly dynamic. But being on the inside now, it’s a whole different level of excitement.”
Sofía and Sandra are cousins who were adopted by Sofía’s parents and raised as sisters.
Sandra is biologically the daughter of Sofía’s aunt, and she was adopted by Sofía’s parents, Margarita and Julio Vergara, when she was about a month old. They were raised together in Barranquilla, Colombia, and have a very close bond.
As well as experience with luxury properties, Sandra has also made a mark on television, having worked with high profile celebrities and has even served as a correspondent for TV show People.
Like her sibling, Sandra is an actress with credits including 2011 horror film, Fright Night, which features Colin Farrell and David Tennant.
All 10 episodes of Selling Sunset are set to be released on Netflix on October 29. Fans can expect to see the return of familiar faces including Crishell Stause, Emma Hernan and Nicole Young.
With the trailer dropping today, many fans were unable to contain their excitement as one person wrote on Instagram : “It’s Selling Season!!”
Another said: “I love this Show thank you Netflix I can’t wait to Watch this.” A third replied: “I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for thissss!!!!” A fourth penned: “I hope it’s not the last !!!!”
