A woman who suffered a “disturbance deep, deep” in her bowels has apologised after her severe diarrhoea single-handedly cancelled an entire flight.
Unfortunate passenger Meghan Reinertsen had such bad diarrhoea on a flight she was travelling on from Portugal back to her native US, that the plane was grounded and specialists were called to clear it up. “I single-handedly got a flight out of Indianapolis cancelled,” an apologetic Reinertsen announced to her over 20 million TikTok viewers.
“If that flight cancellation changed the trajectory of your life in a really negative way, I’m so sorry.” It comes after a ‘traumatised’ family are stranded at Palma Airport after being told they can’t board a Jet2 flight.

Apologising to passengers, Meghan explained her somewhat inconvenient bowel movements on the United Airlines flight was not “without pain and suffering” on her end. It occurred with a such sudden and rapid pace that Meghan remembered thinking that “something is happening” that she was not “prepared to deal with”.
The diarrhoea began as Meghan was coming back from Portugal. She hoped it would pass, but the troubles continued after she landed at New York’s Newark Airport where she barely made it through customs.
The problems got worse on the next flight. Suddenly, she had to dash to the toilet despite the seatbelt signs being in use.
Meghan, a writer and actress making a living as a live-in nanny said: “I couldn’t let that happen to me so for the next 20 minutes, I have more diarrhea than any human should have in their life.”
She recalled: “I’m full body sweating, I’m crying, my insides are cramping.”
A stricken Meghan found herself in tears, but worse was to promptly arrive. She started to be sick and had to call a flight attendant for urgent assistance. The attendant gave her a bag she could throw up in.
The mess caused by Meghan meant that the next scheduled departure on the plane had to be cancelled, the Express reports. She admitted that specialist cleaners in hazmat suits were needed to deal with the fallout, as she was wheelchaired off the plane and taken to the baggage area.
She said: “They cancelled that flight because of me. The hazmat team [had] to come in and clean it, because [they didn’t] know if I’d brought [a disease] back from Portugal,” Reinertsen said with a groan.”
Meghan thinks an under-cooked burger she ate in Portugal the night before was the source of her somewhat spectacular ills.
