A woman was left absolutely stunned to find an item in a charity shop she never imagined would be being resold – and at £500 less than new. Carole Rees recently revealed her discovery to her 101,000 TikTok followers, leaving viewers completely gobsmacked.
Dubbing it her “thrift of the year”, Carole revealed she forked out £45 for the Ninja Luxe Premier Coffee Machine, but the gadget is actually worth significantly more than this. The Welsh shopper revealed: “I cannot believe I found this in a charity shop. So, I went thrifting in Carmarthen yesterday on my way from a weekend away in Pembrokeshire and I popped into this lovely store.
“This was actually the first store that I visited – it’s the British Heart Foundation home store in Carmarthenshire. The furniture they had there was absolutely amazing, and they were actually having a half-price sale as I was walking through the door.
“Anyway, my son bought this coffee machine last month, and I couldn’t believe he paid £550 for it. I would love one, but I’d never pay that, so you can imagine my delight when I spotted this little beauty in the charity shop – the exact same model in as new condition for £45.”
Absolutely delighted with her find, Carole grabbed the coffee machine and purchased it on the spot.
The mum explained if you’re someone who “turns your nose up” at charity shops, then you need to reconsider, as they provide some brilliant deals on high-end items.
Hundreds of viewers have watched the video since it was posted, and many were eager to share their reactions as well.
One viewer commented: “Best bargain of the year. Love it.”
Another wrote: “Wow – great bargain. Love a charity shop.”
A third responded: “Yes, I go. I bought a pair of shoes for £10.00 brand new. Retail price £120.”
Meanwhile, a fourth also remarked: “That’s some find.”
Another person added their voice to the conversation, saying: “Wow. Fabulous. The thrifting Gods were looking down on you.”
In response to queries about the item’s functionality, Carole confirmed it had been tested and was in good working order, saying: “For those asking, yes, it’s working perfectly fine and it’s like brand new.”
