People have been ‘warned’ about placing a certain piece of furniture in front of their beds. According to one woman, ignoring this could lead to something unwanted making its way into your home and settling in to stay.

Leah (@psychicleah), who claims to be a psychic medium and demonologist, told her TikTok followers about the risks of having a mirror face where you sleep in the bedroom. Psychic mediums say they can get messages from the spirits of those who have passed away and can serve as a link between the deceased and their living relatives.

Leah’s ‘warning’ applies to any type of mirror, including ones hung on the wall, freestanding in a corner, or built onto the doors of your wardrobe. She said: “I don’t think I can actually stress this enough to people. Do not have a mirror facing your bed.” The psychic claimed that mirrors are “the main reasons” why “portals” between our realm and the spirit world ‘exist’.

She said: “You will have unwanted spirits. You will have all types of spirits in your home and you don’t wanna be the one that I have to come out to [so I can] clear something low vibrational – typically an entity that isn’t particularly nice.”

Leah suggested that something could be amiss if you recently invested in a nice new bedroom mirror and it has triggered symptoms of “restless sleep” and insomnia. She added, “It’s because of the energy that comes out of the mirror.

She also claimed that simply pointing the mirror in a different direction might not do the trick either. She said mirrors also “invite unwanted spirits” when facing a window.

Despite being a good bargain, Leah also warns anyone she meets against keeping second-hand mirrors due to “withheld energy”. She said: “Whatever happened within that person’s home, we don’t know if it’s negative, is coming into your home.”

Leah claims that she gets called frequently about “unwanted spirits” in a home and can instantly tell the problem when she spots a mirror. So, what does she say you do about it?

Leah told viewers: “[What] I suggest you do is you cover the mirror. You can keep it there, [but] cover the mirror with a cloth, blanket, whatever you want. Make sure you’re doing protection prayers over that mirror, setting boundaries and you are also saging it. Please, I beg you, sage it.”

The psychic medium added: “I’m doing this to protect you.” While there’s no scientific basis for ghosts appearing in mirrors, the connection between mirrors and the supernatural is one rooted in folklore, psychology, and popular culture.

For those who believe, it has been suggested that ghosts and spirits do form attachments to mirrors, be that traditional pieces of furniture or mirrored surfaces. Some traditions view mirrors as portals to other realms, including the afterlife or spirit world.

Ancient beliefs often associated mirrors with the soul, suggesting that a reflection was a part of one’s spirit. Specific mirrors are sometimes believed to be haunted, with stories of apparitions, strange reflections, or even entities appearing within them.
