The woman was left completely stunned after trying a very simple and reasonably priced product just two to three times per week, and it completely cured her ‘strawberry legs and chicken skin’

A woman has unveiled the impressive results of her “chicken skin” and “strawberry legs” cure, after adding one simple product to her beauty routine.

So-called strawberry legs are a relatively common skin condition and bugbear for many where the skin on the legs has dark, sometimes red, spots, reminiscent of strawberry seeds. There are several reasons someone may suffer with ‘strawberry legs’ but a common cause is when the hair follicles or pores become clogged with dirt, oil, dead skin or bacteria.

Similarly, ‘chicken skin’, medically known as keratosis pilaris, or KP, is another skincare woe which causes little bumps, reminiscent of goosebumps, across the skin. It’s most typical on the upper arms but, like strawberry legs, it can appear wherever else your body has hair follicles.

According to the NHS, it’s caused “when your hair follicles become blocked with a build-up of keratin, a substance found in skin, hair and nails. Nobody knows exactly why keratin builds up, but the condition is thought to run in families.” One sufferer of the condition took to the popular Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, which boasts more than 200K members. She shared before and after photos of her legs, before she bought Good Skin’s Power of the Peel Exfoliating Mitts.

In the ‘before’ shot, her legs were covered with very obvious and dark, almost purple-coloured dots whereas in the ‘after’, her legs looked significantly smoother and the dots were pale and almost non-existent, like regular pores. In the ‘after’ shot, it looks like the condition is completely cured.

Captioning the images, she said: “Hi everyone, please be kind! After seeing the peel thing in this group I got one for myself, I suffer from KP skin (chicken skin). I absolutely love this group for finding tips. I hope admin allows this post – yes I know, it’s not cleaning house, more cleaning skin – just wanted to thank whoever shared it. Wow, what a difference! No mean comments, please.”

People rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts. One person said: “Omg what peel thing! I suffer so bad with kp”. Another said: “My skin is like that and I’ve always wondered why, thought it was just open pores. Looks awful even after I have shaved.”

A third impressed Facebook user penned: “Oh wow this is fab, you must be so happy. My daughter suffers on her arms and we tried a special exfoliation thing but it didn’t work. What is it you are using? And well done for the share, it’s brilliant”.

In response, the original poster replied: “Thank you, awww bless her. I think a lot of women get this on their arms and legs, so I use this mitt, power of peel, two to three times a week”. The mum said she’d be stocking up on the product to buy for her daughter.

On the product website, the mitt is described as offering “gentle, yet powerful exfoliation”, while being reusable and handmade. It claims to offer users “healthy, glowing skin”.

Other cures for keratosis pilaris and ‘strawberry legs’ include moisturising with gentle, fragrance-free products; using mild and unperfumed soaps and bathing products; and sticking with lukewarm showers and baths instead of hot ones.
